Le Microscratch Testeur est largement utilisé pour caractériser la décohésion des couches minces et des revêtements ayant une épaisseur inférieure à 5 um. Le Micro Scratch Testeur est employé pour l'analyse des couches organiques ou inorganiques, qu'elles soient dures ou molles. Les échantillons sont issus des traitements PVD, CVD, PACVD, pour des applications touchant le domaine des peintures, laques, vernis, couches ophtalmiques, microélectroniques, cosmétiques. Les substrats peuvent être durs ou mous, qu'il s'agisse d'alliages métalliques, semiconducteurs, verres, revêtements réfractaires et matériaux organiques.
