REVETEST®划痕测试仪已被广泛应用于界定硬质薄膜的力学性能，适用的薄膜厚度一般大于1微米。应用领域包括有机薄膜、无机薄膜，摩擦学薄膜、磁性薄膜，装饰性薄，PVD、CVD、PECVD方法生产的金属镀膜、钝化膜、减低摩擦磨损系数的保护性薄膜等。基体材料可以为金属、合金、半导体、玻璃、矿物、以及有机材料等。
